The Iron King is one of my all time favorite series. There are 4 full books in the series and 3 small half-books. It's a combination of the real world meets "what if A Midsummer Night's Dream" was a real thing. So there are two different worlds and it's about the main characters journey between them and juggling her new life. Not to mention throwing a little war, romance, and betrayal into the mix makes for a real page turner. I've read the whole series through and through twice and am working on a third.

A Discovery of Witches is one of the best reads I could have ever asked for. It is book 1 in an on-going series that currently has a total of 4 books. It's a story of a witch and her journey of discovering her powers and a vampire that just can't seem to leave her alone. It's phenomenal, with magic, suspense, romance, and it truly has you on the edge of your seat. Not to mention, I cried a time or two and that really constitutes a good book in my opinion.

Start With Why takes the reader on a journey through critically thinking through the "why" of a corporate or organizational structure and how to funnel it through the "golden circle." I would recommend this for any leader, no matter the organization. It has given me much to think about.

The Memory of Earth

First, I want to say that I have yet to read anything by Orson Scott Card that I didn’t like. That being said, I really enjoyed The Memory of Earth. It takes the reader through the dystopian world of Harmony forty million years after the destruction of Earth and follows a family as they wrestle with their own moral issues and the revelations given by the “Oversoul” (an artificial intelligent life form built to give guidance to the new planet and eventually help bring humans back to Earth). Scott Card uses the four brothers of the main plot line to explore how greed, hubris, sincerity, and determination all influence family and social standing. It is through great sacrifice that the family unit has to decide whether to follow the Oversoul’s guidance or rip their separate, individual families apart for their own agendas.
I gave this book a 4 out of 5 rating because, unlike other Orson Scott Card books I’ve read, The Memory of Earth’s ending seems rushed as it quickly sets up the other books in the series and does not really give a satisfying conclusion to an otherwise great read.
